rho was founded was a clear mission, to help other's have a safe night's sleep, along with three guiding values that shape all our business decisions.

Transparency

We vow to be open and honest with you, our customers, about the impacts of our company, the how we operate and the ways in which we hope to improve.

Our sustainability pages detail our social and environmental commitments, and we are open and honest about our manufacturer and our cotton supplier so you can understand where and how your items are made, who they are made by and what they are made of.

We proudly share all the ways we try to reduce our negative environmental impacts: by using 100% GOTS certified organic cotton which is grown in the same country as our manufacturer, low-impact dyes and other waste-reducing production methods, by protecting endangered trees for every newsletter subscriber, and our choice of packaging materials. As well as all the ways we strive to have a positive social impact through our business: by working with a certified Fair Trade manufacturer and donating our fabric scraps to up-skilling programmes within their Foundation, and by donating £5 from every item we sell to Oasis Domestic Abuse Service. But we are also not afraid to share our limitations and where we know we need to improve as a company. Sustainability is a journey, and it is not an absolute term. We want to bring you along for the ride as we grow, develop and become better so that you can learn with us.

We believe brand transparency is the first step towards a more sustainable textiles industry, but alone it is not enough.

Accountability

The next step after transparency is accountability. We hold ourselves responsible for our impacts on the planet and its people.

We strive to be as sustainable as possible and minimise any negative consequences that inevitably come from creating new products, but as previously stated this will always be, and should always be, a work in progress. Sustainability work is never done. We are always aiming to maximise the positive effects we can have through the business, and hold ourselves accountable to reaching our goals and keeping our promises.

Sustainability-conscious practices like donating £5 from every item we sell to Oasis Domestic Abuse Service, and protecting five trees in endangered rainforest for every new email subscriber, ensure that working towards creating positive impact is woven throughout our various business activities.

Compassion

We truly care about what we do, how we do it and why we do it.

It is very important to us that we make high quality, beautiful products that last, and that the farmers and workers in our supply chain are paid fairly and treated well, at the very very least.

We believe in trusted partnerships and collaboration, and love working with creators, fellow businesses and publications who also share our values. We also love connecting our consumers with the stories of their products and the people who made them, as we believe this fosters compassion and care from buyer to maker.

Our social mission to give others a safe night's sleep is what drives us. We believe that businesses that operate consciously and ethically, with compassion, can be a force for good in the fashion industry, and in the world. We take responsibility for our role in raising awareness about sustainability issues, and supporting the shift towards slower, more sustainable consumerism.

We do not want to be part of the problem, we want to be part of the solution.
